Bay Village Board of Education accepts Huntley Resignation, Seeks Applicants

The Bay Village Board of Education seeks applicants to fill the unexpired term of board member Amy Huntley, who will resign effective Tuesday, April 16.

The board is accepting applications through Tuesday, April 30, 2019, for the open board seat. Applicants must be residents of Bay Village and registered voters. Candidate interviews with the board will take place beginning on Monday, May 6, 2019. The board expects to swear in the newly appointed member on Monday, May 13, 2019.

The new member must run for the school board seat in the next general election Tuesday, November 5, 2019, in order to continue serving for the remainder of the unexpired term ending December 31, 2021.

Amy Huntley has served on the Bay Village Board of Education since 2002 and has served numerous times as its president and vice president. She is a Certified Public Accountant, working in her field for more than 30 years, and is the owner of Huntley & Company, LLC. A graduate of Bay High School, Amy holds a B.A. in business administration with an emphasis in accounting and a minor in economics from Baldwin Wallace College. She has served as treasurer and president of Normandy and Westerly Elementary School PTAs, and as treasurer of Bay Middle School PTA, Bay High School PTA, Bay Village PTA Council and the Bay High Band Boosters. Amy also served as treasurer of Citizens for Bay Schools 1995-2000. She is a Trustee of the S.T.E.M. Foundation, the Bay Village Foundation and the Bay Village Schools Alumni Foundation. Amy and her husband, Tom, have six children, all who received their entire K-12 education from the Bay Village schools.
