UH St. John Medical Center Honors Nurses

University Hospitals St. John Medical Center paused the afternoon of May 9 to honor nurses.

The annual Department of Nursing Award Ceremony took place in the Main Entrance lobby as nurses were recognized in several vital categories.

The Outstanding Clinical Support Award went to Sam Schubert. The award is presented to an employee who provides outstanding service and serves as a role model to others by exemplifying the UH St. John mission to provide care which is compassionate and professional.

The Nursing Preceptor Award was presented to Melanie Maxwell for demonstrating excellence in nursing practice, faithfulness to UH St. John core values and exemplifies a culture where patient and family relationship is at the center of care.

Brian Tabor received the Nurse Leader Award, honoring the person who impacts care by role modeling extraordinary behavior and creating an environment of trust, compassion, respect and ethical behavior.

Rookie of the Year is Kristen Brots, an award that honors a registered nurse practicing in their first two years who demonstrates excellence in clinical practice, enthusiasm and awareness of professionalism.

The Outstanding Nurse of the Year for Clinical Excellence Award went to Kelsey Conn. The award honors a nurse who possesses excellent nursing skills and knowledge, leadership skills and excellence in interpersonal relationships.
