A beautiful Sunday was had by all who attended the 24th Annual Fairview Hospital Toy Run, hosted by our friends at Lake Erie Harley-Davidson!
Nearly 700 warmhearted and generous biking enthusiasts were in attendance for a fun gathering all for a great cause! Breakfast and music were enjoyed as bikers gathered for registration at Lake Erie Harley-Davidson on July 14. Individual riders and cycle clubs joined together decked out in their finest leather vests and club colors to deliver toys to the Pediatric Unit at Fairview Hospital. A special nod to American Legion Post 118 and the other motorcycle clubs who raised additional funds for the event.
The ride route started at 1 p.m., from Lake Erie Harley-Davidson and continued along Detroit Road to Crocker Park in Westlake, down Hilliard Blvd. through Rocky River and on to Fairview Hospital. It was a beautiful sight to behold! A sea of over 450 motorcycles of all types were seen with teddy bears, stuffed animals and toys, strapped down to the bikes. So many people along the parade route cheered for the riders who make this annual event such a wonderful day. Over $5,000 was raised in addition to the hundreds of toys that were given for the kids.
A big shout out to the folks at Lake Erie Harley-Davidson for sponsoring the event and working so diligently on setting up tents, tables, chairs and breakfast for the riders. Thank you!
All the riders and their passengers could not have been happier to join in such a great cause for our young patients and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts for their kindness and generosity! Special thanks to the officers who opened up the route and managed traffic so the bikers could ride to the hospital safely!
