Fairview Park Police Officer Erik Joyce Sworn In

Fairview Police Chief Erich Upperman and newest officer Erik Joyce

On Monday, October 21, 2019, Mayor Patton swore in our new officer, Erik Joyce.  Erik is the son of retired FPPD officer James Joyce, who served with our department for 34 years, from 1980 – 2014. Dad ceremonially pinned his old badge onto his son’s shirt after Erik took the oath of office.

Erik got his start in law enforcement here at Fairview Park PD when he joined our auxiliary unit at age 19. A few years later he served a short stint with the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority as a police officer. He then went to the Cuyahoga County Sheriff Office where he served as a deputy sheriff for the past six years.

We give a heartfelt welcome to Erik as he embarks on his new career providing service to the citizens of Fairview Park!
