Westlake Senior Center Honors Vets

Mayor Clough and WWII Veteran Robert Tuneberg

The City of Westlake is proud of all veterans who live or work in Westlake!

The community gathered for a Veteran’s Day brunch at the Westlake Senior Center the morning of Mon., Nov. 11 to honor all who served.

Mayor Dennis Clough was there to welcome vets and express the appreciation of the entire community to them for their service. “It is because of you that we enjoy the freedoms we have today,” said Mayor Clough.

Representatives of area senior service organizations including Hospice of the Western Reserve then pinned each vet in attendance. Mayor Clough followed with a personal thank you and handshake to each one.

Featured speaker was Vane Scott, who shared a fascinating presentation, Many Faces of Old Glory, “The History of American Revolution told with Flags.”
