Bay Village Police arrested a pair of garbage pickers and found they had collected paper work with personal information of homeowners.
The arrest came on November 18, at 11:27 p.m. Bay Village Police stopped a vehicle in the area of Wolf Road and Fordham Road for garbage picking. As officers approached, they saw a male and a female ripping open garbage bags and going through paperwork.
Police investigated and found that the male had an active warrant for his arrest out of Pennsylvania and that the female was driving with a suspended license.
Police investigated further and found suspected methamphetamine inside of the vehicle.
To make matters worse, the pair was collecting paperwork from the garbage which contained personal information that could easily be used to commit fraud. Both were placed under arrest and are facing charges in Cuyahoga County Court.
-On November 17 at 12:35am, Bay Village stopped a vehicle on Wolf Road, at Woodpark Drive, for multiple moving traffic violations. Officers spoke with the male operator, a 57 year old Michigan resident, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The male failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. On station, the male submitted to a breath test which showed a .180% blood alcohol content. He is facing numerous charges in Rocky River Municipal Court.
-On November 20, at 8:00am, Bay Village Police responded to a residence in the 500 block of Cahoon Road to take a report of criminal damaging. Officers arrived and found that someone had spray painted foul language across a contractor’s yard sign that was placed in the front yard. The Bay Village Detective Bureau is investigating.
-On November 23, at 1:27am, Bay Village Police stopped a vehicle on Lake Road near Bradley Road for several moving violations. Police spoke with the male operator, a 50 year old Avon Lake resident, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The male failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. On station, the male refused to submit to a breath test which would show his blood alcohol content. He is facing charges in Rocky River Municipal Court.
