High Winds Claim Car and Injure Driver in Westlake

This morning’s storm caused delays and damage in Westlake.  At approx. 6:30AM Police received a call of a tree that fell on a car on Hilliard Blvd just west of Clague.  The female driver was injured and trapped inside the car.  She was extracted and transported to the hospital by the Westlake Fire Dept.  Luckily her injuries appear to be non life threatening.  The falling tree took down power and utility lines which cracked 3 separate utility poles.  As of 10:07AM the roadway is still closed as crews work on the clean up.
