Be Careful: Girls Struck While Crossing the Street

Fairview Park Police report that two little girls who were crossing the street with parents in a cross walk were struck by a car: 

August 4, 2020         MVA/Obstruction/Warrant Arrest         2020 hrs

Police responded to a car vs pedestrian MVA at W 210/Lorain Rd. Upon arrival, it was found that a 6 year old girl and an 11 year old girl had been struck by a car while crossing the street. One girl was riding a scooter, and the other her bike, and the parents were walking with them. The car that struck them was E/B on Lorain and turned left, striking the girls while in the crosswalk. Both girls appeared to have only minor injuries, and were taken to Fairview Hospital for evaluation.

The driver of the car was a female, who repeatedly gave false information to officers. Upon finally giving her real name and information, it was found that she had a suspended license, and had a Felony drug warrant from Erie County Sheriff’s Office. She was arrested on the felony warrant and for Obstructing Justice, and was also cited for DUS and Failing to Yield to Pedestrians in a Crosswalk.

August 6, 2020        Bicycle Theft 22432 Fairlawn Cir          

A woman reported her son’s Mongoose bicycle stolen from the garage of their apartment. She stated she heard kids outside and saw a group near her garage, and they fled when they noticed her. She checked the garage and found her son’s bike was missing. The next day, the bike was recovered when officers went to Cleveland to check on someone selling another bike that was reported stolen in Fairview Park. The Mongoose was observed at that time, and recovered for the owner, in addition to the one listed for sale online. A juvenile suspect is being charged via Juvenile Court.

August 8, 2020         Wagon Theft 21201 Center Ridge Rd       2102 hrs

A woman called police reporting the theft of items while she was inside Wendy’s on Center Ridge. The victim had parked a wagon across the street from Wendy’s near the Saver’s Thrift store. On the wagon were personal items, clothing, and medications. When she came out of Wendy’s, the wagon and her belonging were gone. No suspects at time of report.

August 4, 2020       Petty Theft      19465 Lorain Rd             

A resident of a Lorain Rd apartment contacted police due to a theft of items delivered to her apartment. She told police that she was notified that the items she purchased were delivered, but when she checked, none of them were found. Value of property taken was around $200. Invest continuing.

August 7, 2020       Theft      22958 Mastick Rd       

Police took a report from the executor of an estate who stated that items were missing. She advised the reporting officer that several items of jewelry were gone and presumed stolen. No suspects at time of report, invest continuing.

August 9, 2020         Criminal Damaging         4570 W 214 St           0037 hrs

A woman called police reporting damage to her car. She told officers that sometime between 0010 hrs and 0030 hrs, someone threw a dumbbell into the back window of her car, damaging same. She had no idea who or why this occurred, no suspects at time of report.
