City of Bay Village September Events – Wolf Road Closure

Wolf Road Closure

Beginning Tuesday, September 8th, Wolf Rd. will be closed to thru traffic from Cahoon Rd. to just east of the Bay Middle School exit for several weeks while an underground gas well in the road is plugged. The remnants of the closed gas well were discovered by the Service Department last year and reported to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Upon investigation by the ODNR Oil and Gas Division it was determined that the previous plug and closure was insufficient and it needs to be properly plugged. At this time, the condition of the well does not pose any immediate danger to the public.

Plugging of the well requires closing the road and sidewalks in the area along with the mobilization of a drill rig which must drill about 800 ft. down in order to properly plug the well.

Signage, with detour information, will be posted in the area of the road closure this week. Chain link fencing will be erected around the site from the intersection at Wolf and Cahoon to the first Middle School entrance driveway, including the sidewalks. It is estimated the project will take 2-3 weeks to complete.

Access to all middle school driveways on Wolf and Cahoon will be maintained throughout the project.

Bay Village Residents – Deer Control Survey

The City of Bay Village is conducting a survey of its residents to determine how the deer population in Bay Village has effected them.

We are asking Bay residents to complete the survey by clicking on the Survey Monkey link below. Results will be tabulated and used to formulate procedures for managing the deer population. You may also pick up a hard copy version of the survey from the Police Department.

Only one survey per resident please. Deadline for completion of the survey is October 31, 2020.

Bay Village Flags are here!
