Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 28455 Center Ridge Road, Westlake, will be participating in “God’s work. Our Hands.” a day to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – to serve and love our neighbor. “God’s work. Our hands.” is when we come together to restore and reconcile our communities — loving your neighbors and making your community a better place.
In these unusual times we find ourselves, God’s Work. Our Hands. will look a little different this year. While we can’t work closely together as usual, we can all work as one congregation and community to help those in need close to home…near…and far! Let us continue doing this important work together!
There are so many ways to serve this year:
Close to Home…
- Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio – Goal: 500 lbs. of canned food which will feed 400 families!
- Lutheran Metropolitan Ministries. Women’s Re-Entry (WREN) – Goal – 100 pairs of socks.
- Lutheran Metropolitan Ministries 2100 Lakeside Men’s Shelter – Goal – 100 pairs of new men’s underwear.
- Orphan Medical Network International – Goal – $6000 to provide shoes for all students in Zambia.
These ministries are very important to our congregation at Prince of Peace and we are hopeful to help as many in need as possible. We will be collecting donations for all of these ministries throughout the month of September!
