On Tuesday, October 27th from 4:30pm to 5:30pm outside of City Hall in Bay Village, community members will be honoring the memory of Amy Mihaljevic.
Amy, a 5th grader at Bay Middle School, was abducted on October 27th, 1989 from the Bay Village Square Shopping Center. Her body was later discovered on February 8th, 1990.
To honor her and raise awareness to her case, 105 luminaries will be placed along Wolf Rd. from the corner of Dover Center Rd. to the Corner of Cahoon Rd. The 105 luminaries represent the 105 days she went missing until her body was discovered. At the event, volunteers will be given a picture of Amy to hold in their hand as they stand behind a luminary.
Amy’s killer has yet to be arrested to this date. Events such as this one, have been known to bring new tips to law enforcement and allows for the conversation surrounding her disappearance to keep her memory not far from us.
If you cannot participate in the event, please share the details of the event with someone else. The luminaries will be placed 6 feet apart and participants are encouraged to wear a mask. We hope to see you there!
