Westlake Girls Head to State

Competing at the Regional meet as a team for just the third time in over 20 years, the Westlake High girls cross country team put in their best performance of the season, taking 4th place overall and earning a State qualifying berth for the first time since 1997 at Boardman.

Finishing 9th overall (19:59), freshman Sarah Peer claimed an individual State qualifying spot with her top 10 finish and also enjoyed the best individual finish in team history as well as the second best time in team history at this Regional.

Freshman Ellie Irwin earned an individual State qualifying spot with her 23rd overall finish (20:31). Freshman Stephanie Nivellini and sophomore Sydney Peer also came out Sarah Coleman and freshmen Ava Kontak and Avery Douglas completed the excellent day.
