Saying Thanks and Giving Back at UH St. John

A warm summer day brought a welcome visit from the Prayers from Maria Ice Cream Truck to the cafeteria patio at UH St. John Medical Center last week.

The visit was sponsored by Brookdale Senior Living. Hospital personnel were welcome to select a lunch-time treat and invited to make a donation in the fight against pediatric cancer through the Prayers from Maria movement.

“Brookdale sponsored it as a thank you to our employees and the proceeds went to cancer research for kids,” said Paul Forthofer, Community Outreach Director UH St. John. “It was a great thing for a hospital to be part of as a hospital community and a great way to also say thank you to our staff and also give back to the community.”
