Santa’s annual fire truck ride is a joint project of the Bay Village Historical Society and Bay Village Kiwanis. Climbing aboard the hook and ladder at Bay Lodge at 2 p.m., Santa and Mrs. Claus toured the streets of the city for two hours, waving at throngs of children and parents who gathered along driveway aprons and street corners after anxiously awaiting the appearance of the North Pole guests all afternoon.
Accompanied this year by two jolly elves, the caravan, led by a police car, ended its journey at the Community House as sirens announced its coming. Once there, the holiday team ascended the steps of the community gazebo and, with the help of children from the audience, flipped the switch that lit the community Christmas Tree.
All were then invited to join in a chorus of “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” as Bay Village joyfully ushered in the holiday season.
