On 12/08/2021, at 0854 hrs, the Bay Village Schools Bus Garage reported they had dash cam video of a car passing a stopped school bus with its stop sign out and red lights flashing. A BVPD officer conducted an investigation, and as a result, a 33-yoa female was cited for Passing a Stopped School Bus. The Bay Village resident will face charges at RRMC.
Beer Stolen: On 12/06/2021, at 1148 hrs, a Columbia Rd. business called BVPD to report a former employee had stolen beer. Police are investigating.
Unwanted Guest: On 12/07/2021, at 2237 hrs, BVPD officers were dispatched to a house in the 26000 block of Wolf Rd. for an unwanted guest. A male called to report his ex-girlfriend was at the residence and she was refusing to leave. While officers were en route to the house, the female left. No further police involvement was desired.
Mail Scam: On 12/09/2021 at 1540 hrs, a resident in the 300 block of Glen Park contacted BVPD advising they received a letter in the mail stating they owed money on one of their personal accounts. The resident contacted said company who advised they had been a part of a scam. BVPD gathered information for a report.
Mail Threat: On 12/09/2021 at 2359 hrs, a resident in the 500 block of Kenilworth called to report that an individual was threatening him by sending disturbing pictures and videos. Police are investigating.
Felony Warrant: On 12/10/2021, at 2144 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Clague Rd. near Wolf Rd. for a traffic violation. After identifying the driver, it was learned the male had an active Felony Burglary warrant with the Cleveland Police Department. After confirming the warrant, officers met up with an officer from the Cleveland Police Department and turned the male over to them.
Loud Music: On 12/12/2021, at 0021 hrs, a resident in the 300 block of Kenilworth called to complain about a Holiday display in the area that was playing loud music all day and all night, and never shuts off. When officers arrived, they located the display, and the speaker. Officers were unable to get anyone to come to the door, so they turned the music off and left a written warning for the homeowner.
OVI: On 12/08/2021, at 0043 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Bradley Rd. near Perry for a traffic violation. After speaking with the female driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the 45-yoa driver was arrested for OVI. The Westlake resident will face charges at RRMC.
