The Normandy Senior Living Offers Baldwin Wallace University Courses

Baldwin Wallace University will be rolling out new and exciting courses at The Normandy, this month! These courses come at no charge. Residents can stop by Avalon Hall on the dates and times listed below to listen, engage, and learn something new! Here are the upcoming courses:

Our Solar System

Mondays, through Feb. 21 at 12:45 p.m.

In this course we will learn about our star, the Sun, the eight planets, Pluto and other dwarf planets. There are over 95 moons in our solar system. Learn of their intriguing features, too! We will sturdy the probes including: Voyagers 1 and 2, Galileo, Cassini, New Horizons, and the International Space Station. Come take a grand journey through the solar system. Mary Todd & Abraham Lincoln

Thursdays, through Feb. 17 at 12:45

This unique course will present Abraham Lincoln’s life from Hodgenville, KY through the White House years until his ultimate death at the hands of John Wikes Booth. The presenter is a Lincoln reenactor who will present as the Great Emancipator himself rather than an instructor in the 21st century. This approach will highlight, in character, Lincoln’s personal life, words and feelings rather than viewing only dates and third-party reflections. Through this unique presentation style, you will be immersed in Lincoln’s life and will gain a new perspective on the life and career of one of our greatest presidents. Additionally we will hear Mary Lincoln’s views and narratives as she discusses how being married to Lincoln impacts her life. Presented by Gerald Payn.
