On Monday March 14, Girl Scouts from Troop #70932 visited the Bay Village Police Department for a presentation in the community room. The 4th grade Girl Scout Troop was working toward their Girl Scout “Detective Badge”. The presentation that night included an explanation of Detective duties, Detective equipment and a live demonstration on obtaining DNA evidence from a crime scene. The girls then got to be detectives for the day. They were given a mock crime (the case of the Orange Soda Thief). The girls solved the crime by locating a hidden fingerprint in the Community Room and comparing the fingerprint against our suspects. Thanks to Det. Kelly Uber for teaching the course and leader Heather Vicich Distin for arranging the evening.
