Community West Foundation and Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital hosted the 21st Annual Drive for Life Golf Outing on Monday, September 19, 2022. Over 100 golfers returned to Westwood Country Club, after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, for a round of golf and friendly competition. The outing raised over $30,000 and will benefit patients of the Cleveland Clinic Moll Cancer Center at Fairview Hospital.
The day started out with early morning thunderstorms, but by the 11:30 a.m. shotgun start, the skies cleared and the sun was shining. Each golfer received a gift bag filled with golf items to use on the course and a boxed lunch to enjoy in between swings. After 18 holes of golf, participants returned to the Westwood Clubhouse for dinner, remarks, raffles and prizes.
President of Fairview Hospital, Dr. Neil Smith, thanked the golfers for their generosity and commitment to the outing. Dr. Hamed Daw, Oncologist and Director at Moll Cancer Center, spoke on how the proceeds raised from Drive for Life will benefit the patients he treats.
Marty Uhle, President and CEO of Community West Foundation, closed the outing by announcing scramble results and raffle prize winners. The 2022 first-place foursome with a score of 55 was awarded to Victor Rauser, Patrick Rollins, Joel Schaedler and Brent Wilhelmy.
Thank you to the golfers, volunteers and Westwood Country Club for their support.
Special thank you to the 2022 Drive for Life sponsors:
