Save the Date! Empty Bowls by the Lake

The preparations for the annual event are already underway. Students are creating pottery bowls. Restaurants will donate soup and bread. Guests will be invited on Saturday, October 18 to a simple meal of soup and bread served at Avon Lake High School from 11am- 2pm. In exchange for a $25 donation, guests will sample all the soup they want and then keep their bowl as a reminder of all the ‘empty bowls’ in the world. The event will include a silent auction (with Browns, Cavs, Guardians, and Monsters tickets and so much more) and live entertainment provided by Avon Middle School’s Electric Orchestra and local musician Johnny Martens. All proceeds benefit Second Harvest Food Bank and other local community resource centers and food banks. When you give to Empty Bowls by the Lake, you are joining in the fight against hunger. You are helping to feed the hungry and to spread the word about the need that exists all around us. Since our 2012 start, we have donated over $168,000 to local organizations directly feeding the hungry.
