Bay Middle School has been hosting a community service tradition for about 20 years, the Great Bay Middle School Rake-out event.
About 700 students, 150 parent volunteers and 15 staff members accompany and assist these students out in the community, raking the yards of senior citizens and residents needing a little more assistance.
These students and volunteers descended on 111 Bay Village homes, with rakes, tarps and blowers in hand, to help with yard cleanup this year.
Bay Middle School 7th Grade Science Teacher, Theresa Flamos, is coordinating this event as part of the 7th Grade Town Council.
