​Come one, come all! Avon Lake is throwing a grand old-fashioned celebration for America’s 250th birthday. It will be a summer filled with music, contests, a 5K, and community fun. Step back in time and make new memories as we honor our history and celebrate the hometown spirit that brings us together. It’s a celebration to remember! Lake Erie Liberty 5K & 1-Mile Run/Walk

Be a part of history. Be a part of the celebration! Join us on Saturday, June 27, 2026, as we celebrate America’s 250th Birthday with the Lake Erie Liberty 5K & 1-Mile Run/Walk at Beach Park Station in Avon Lake!

  • Location: Beach Park Station, 33489 Lake Road, Avon Lake
  • Schedule: Registration & Packet Pick-Up: 9 AM • 5K & 1-Mile Run/Walk Start: 10 AM • Awards Ceremony: 11 AM
  • Event Options: Chip-Timed 5K Run/Walk • Untimed 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
  • All Participants Receive: Race Shirt • Finisher Medal • Post-Race Refreshments
  • Awards: Top Overall Male & Female • Top 3 Male & Female Finishers in each age group

Avon Lake to Hold 250 Jubilee Fireworks Celebration on July 3

Grab your lawn chairs and blankets and head over to Weiss Field on Friday, July 3, 2026, for the City of Avon Lake’s 250 Jubilee Fireworks Celebration presented by Ford Motor Company and Kopf Builders.

  • 4-9 p.m. | Food Trucks
  • 5-7 p.m. | Live music by Rock Academy, contests, dunk tank, and kids’ activities
  • 7-10 p.m. | Music by 97 Crosses (John Cougar Mellencamp tribute band)
  • 10 p.m. | Fireworks
