Tuesday, September 1 (2-3 p.m.) Virtual Author Talk: David O. Stewart, “The Democracy We Must Keep” – Award-Winning Historian and Bestselling Author of “Impeached” and “The Summer of 1787” will talk about his latest work in this virtual talk. Streamed live. Please register.

Tuesday, September 1 (6-8 p.m.) Jewelry Junction: Fall Bracelet and Earrings – Make a beautiful fall bracelet and earrings using charms, fall colored beads, and gold-plated findings. This is a high-interest/low-capacity program. Please register for the wait list.

Tuesday, September 1 (6-7:30 p.m.) Makerspace Foundations: CNC Orientation – Attend an orientation to learn the basics of using the CNC router and become a verified user of the machine. This is a high interest/low capacity program. Please register for the wait list.

Tuesday, September 1 (7–8:30 p.m.) World at War Forum: The Blitzkreig Myth and the Fall of France – In the summer of 1940 the German army swept into France, overrunning French and British forces in a matter of weeks. Steve Pettyjohn discusses this famed invasion and the myths surrounding it. Please register.

Wednesday, September 2 (10:30-11:15 a.m.)  Adapted Storytime – Join us for this storytime designed for children who may not be successful in a typical storytime experience. Registration begins August 26. Content is geared toward ages 3-7.

Wednesdays in September (5-6 p.m.) Bow Wow Books – Stop by Youth Services to sign up for a 10-minute reading time with a reading therapy dog. Sign-up starts at 4:30 p.m. Recommended for Grades K-4.

Wednesday, September 2 (6-6:45 p.m.) Meet Your Makerspace! – What is the Makerspace? What can you make?  Come and learn all about the equipment available and what is required to use it! Registration begins August 26.

Wednesday, September 2 (6:30-8:30 p.m.) Horror Film Club – Join us for another creepy classic from the Vault! New members are welcome, but children under 13 must be with an adult. Please register.

Wednesday, September 2 (7-8:30 p.m.) Sustainable Fashion & You – Come learn a bit about the fashion industry, its effect on the planet, and how you can shop sustainably while staying on trend. Join in person or on Zoom. Please register.

Thursday, September 3 and Monday, September 21 (1-7 p.m.) American Red Cross Bloodmobile – Please give blood with the American Red Cross Bloodmobile.

Thursday, September 3 (3-4 p.m.) Tech Bytes: iPhone and iPad Help Session – Have quick questions about your iPhone or iPad? Need help with basic features or apps? Join our Help Session for a casual drop-in opportunity to learn and share tips.

Friday, September 4 (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) Community Doodle Day Crafts – It’s National Doodle Day! Visit the Youth Services department for various doodle-themed craft tables and contribute to our community Doodle Board. While supplies last. No registration necessary. All ages.

Saturday, September 5 (10:30-11 a.m.) Outdoor Family Storytime – Join us for rhymes, songs, and play outside in the Friends Pavilion. Ages 2-6 with a caregiver. No registration required.

Saturday, September 5 (2-2:30 p.m.) Read It, Make It @ the Library – We will read one story then make a craft based on the story. No registration required. Ages 4-7 with a caregiver, siblings welcome.

Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7 Library Closed in observance of Labor Day

Tuesday, September 8 (4:30-5:15 p.m.) Teddy Bear Picnic – Bring your favorite stuffed animal to a Teddy Bear Picnic. Join us for stories, songs, crafts, and a snack. This program is hosted outside in the Friends Pavilion, please dress accordingly. In case of inclement weather, we will meet in the Dover Room. This is a high interest/low capacity program. Please join the wait list. Register each participating child separately. Ages 3-8.

Tuesday September 8 (7-8:30 p.m.) Tuesday Night Book Club (In Person AND Virtual) – Join the WPPL Tuesday Evening Book Club in person or on Zoom to discuss “Go As a River” by Shelley Read. The discussion will be held in person and on Zoom simultaneously. Please register. If you register for the Zoom option, you will receive a Zoom invitation and instructions by email.

Tuesday, September 8 (7-8 p.m.) Virtual Author Talk: Daniel Kraus, “The Sixth Nik” – Prepare to launch into the darkest depths of deep space with this 2026 Pulitzer Prize winner and “New York Times” bestselling author of “Whalefall” and “Angel Down.” Streamed live. Please register.

Wednesday, September 9 (4-5 p.m.) After School in the ‘Space – Teens ages 11-15 are welcome in the Makerspace to create a project with the Makerspace equipment.  Join us and sublimate an image on your very own backpack. Backpacks provided. One per person. Participants must have a library card and a user agreement signed by a parent on file. Registration begins September 2.

Wednesday, September 9 (7-8:30 p.m.) Environmentalism Book Club – This month’s title is “No New Things” by Ashlee Piper. Please register.

Thursday, September 10 (7-8:15 p.m.) Thursday Night Book Club – This month’s title is “Theo of Golden” by Allen Levi. A limited number of copies will be available at the Circulation Desk. No registration required.

Friday, September 11 (8:30-10:30 a.m.) Commemoration Ceremony of the 25^th Anniversary of 9/11 – View the livestream of the commemoration ceremony honoring the victims of 9/11. Coffee and tea provided. Please register. All ages.

Friday, September 11 (9 a.m.-6 p.m.) 9/11 Remembrance Tree – Visit Christina’s Corner in Youth Services to wrote a message of hope on a leaf to add to our remembrance tree honoring those who lost their lives on 9/11. All ages.

Saturday, September 12 (10 a.m.-1 p.m.) Becoming a Better Photographer – Learn basic photography concepts and key skill elements using your digital camera or smartphone.  For beginner-intermediate level photographers ages 16 and older. Please bring a digital camera of your choice. Must have basic familiarity with your equipment. This is a high-interest/low-capacity program. Please register for the wait list.

Saturday, September 12 (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) Grandparents Are Grand – Celebrate your grandparents, great grandparents, and family with crafts and super fun activities just in time for Grandparents Day. While supplies last. No registration necessary. Grades PreK and up.

Saturday, September 12 (3-4:30 p.m.) Women in History Presents Molly Pitcher – Born Mary Ludwig, she followed the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War and carried water to overheated and wounded soldiers during the Battle of Monmouth. She later took over the cannon after her husband was wounded, earning both the name “Sergeant Molly” and her place in history. Please register.

Monday, September 14 (10-10:30 a.m.) Music Monday – Develop pre-reading skills with music, movement, and rhythm through stories, songs, and rhymes. No registration required. Ages 2-6 with a caregiver, siblings welcome.

Monday, September 14 (11-11:45 a.m.) Adult Stories – Adults with disabilities laugh, sing, listen to stories, and do a craft or a coloring page. Please register.

Mondays, September 14, 21 and 28 (3-5 p.m.) Teen Hang Out – Need a place to hang after school? Come to WPPL’s Teen Lounge on Monday afternoons! Video games, board games, snacks and more! Grades 7-12.

Monday, September 14 (4:30-5:15 p.m.) Tinkering with Tinkercad – Explore 3D design with Tinkercad. Learn the basics, start a project, and return to the Makerspace later to finish. No printing during the session. Grades 3-6. Registration begins September 7.

Monday, September 14 (7-8 p.m.) Earth “kind” Meetup Group – Meet with other veg/plant-based- curious individuals to discover new flavors, new foods and more ways to be kind to yourselves and to our earth. This group will meet most months on the second Monday of the month. Various topics will be discussed. No registration required.

Tuesday, September 15 (3:30-5 p.m.) Let’s Make Ice Cream! – Drop in and make your own ice cream by hand! Grades K-6, siblings welcome.

Tuesday, September 15 (4-5 p.m.) Virtual Author Talk: Priya Parker, “The Art of Fighting” – Join us for a paradigm-shifting event with world-renowned master facilitator Priya Parker to discuss her groundbreaking new book, “The Art of Fighting: The Transformative Power of Conflict.” Streamed live. Tuesday, September 15 (6-6:30 p.m.) Dot Day Celebration – Celebrate International Dot Day with creativity, courage, and collaboration by reading “The Dot” by Peter Reynolds with a craft session to follow. Wednesday, September 16 (2-3 p.m.) Wednesday Afternoon Book Discussion – The Wednesday Book Group meets the third Wednesday of each month. This month’s title is “The Art Spy” by Michelle Young. No registration required.

Wednesdays, September 16 and 23 (3-4 p.m.) Snacktivity – Who says you can’t play with your food? Drop by the Teen Lounge after school for a snack-related activity on select Wednesdays each month. While supplies last. Enjoy the process then eat the results. Grades 5-12.

Wednesday, September 16 (4:30-5 p.m.) Bear Storytime and Crafts – September is Bear Necessities Month! Join us for bear-themed stories and crafts, while supplies last. No registration necessary. Grades 1-4.

Saturday, September 19 (1-2 p.m.) Pokémon Fun! – This will be a time to view and trade cards, do a craft, battle your librarian, or play a Pokémon Bingo game. Feel free to bring your cards! No registration required. Ages 6-11.

Sunday, September 20 (2-3 p.m.) Come Play With Me – An open playtime for children. No registration required. Ages 2-6 with a caregiver, siblings welcome!

Monday, September 21 (10-10:45 a.m.) STEAM Ahead: Dinosaur Discovery – Let’s explore the world of dinosaurs, from fossils and eggs to carnivores and herbivores. Ages 4-6, up to kindergarten. Registration begins September 14.

Monday, September 21 (1-2 p.m.)  True Crime Book Club – This month’s title is “Framed,” John Grisham and Jim McCloskey. Please register.

Tuesday, September 22 (10-11 a.m.) Let’s Learn Libby! – Come learn how to download ebooks and audiobooks using Libby, one of our most popular ebook resources. Registration begins September 15.

Tuesday, September 22 (6-7:30 p.m.) Laser Engraved Acrylic Lamps – Registrants will learn how to use the Makerspace’s laser engraver and Lightburn software as well as customize their own LED acrylic lamp to take home. This is a high interest/low capacity program. Please register for the wait list.

Wednesday, September 23 (6-7 p.m.) Sunny Day Fun and Play – Celebrate our favorite puppet-filled neighborhood with crafts, games, and activities. No registration required. Ages 3-6 with a caregiver.

Thursday, September 24 (English: 7-7:30 p.m., en Español: 8-8:30 p.m.) Virtual Author Talk: Lucky Diaz, “Paletero Man” – Join us for an energetic conversation as we celebrate the joy of community and summer fun with Latin GRAMMY-winning musician Lucky Diaz, author of the bilingual picture book, “Paletero Man”. Saturday, September 26 (11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.) Paper Flower Bouquets – Join us in the Makerspace to create paper flower bouquets using the Cricuts. Participants will receive a demonstration on how to use the Cricut machines and Cricut Design Space software to create a variety of flowers before assembling their own bouquets. This is a high-interest/low-capacity program. Please register for the wait list beginning August 27.

Saturday, September 26 (1:15-3:15 p.m.) Nonprofit Open House: Discuss How Current Events Affect Nonprofits and Funders – Meet with other local nonprofits and area funders. Panel discussion with funders regarding the current nonprofit climate. Registration begins August 27.

Saturday, September 26 (2-3 p.m.) Brick Builders – Do you love Legos®? Then bring your ideas and imagination to Brick Builders! Bricks provided. No registration is required, but room capacity is limited. First come, first served. Ages 5-12.

Sunday, September 27 (2-4 p.m.) Storytelling Showcase – Celebrate community storytelling through the timeless art of sharing experiences, traditions and imagination. Registration begins August 27.

Monday, September 28 (10:30-11 a.m.) Little Yogis – Stretch, breathe, and move with poses that build balance, focus, and joy in this yoga session. Please bring a yoga mat or towel. This is a high interest/low capacity program. Please join the wait list. Register each participating child separately, beginning August 28. Ages Infant-5 with a caregiver.

Monday, September 28 (7-8 p.m.) One Big Beautiful Bill and What it Means to You – Dave Herwerden of WestPoint Wealth Management will break down One Big Beautiful Bill and how it affects you. Registration begins August 29.

Tuesday, September 29 (6:30-8 p.m.) Bone Health and Hormones for Women – Learn from Chrissy Frey, MS, PT, practical, evidence-based steps women can take at any age to protect and strengthen bones. This interactive program will help you promote lifelong skeletal health. Registration begins September 1.

Wednesday, September 30 (7–8 p.m.) Adult Creative Writing Group: Learn Something New Edition – Join us for an hour of writing prompts to inspire you to keep writing. Creativity is more than putting pen to paper. It’s about breaking away and trying something new! For adults and teens age 16 and up. Registration begins August 26.
