Westlake Girls Take SWC Basketball Title

Monica Fury and Coach Weiss

The Westlake girls traveled to Berea to battle a tough Titan squad and were able to fight through a great defensive effort by B-M to gain the victory. This is the second year in a row that Westlake has defeated B-M for the conference title. Westlake finished the regular season with a 20-2 record overall, and 16-2 record in the SWC. The 2 losses were both on the road to Amherst by 2 and Lakewood by 1.

Key to Westlake has been the play of Monica Fury. Monica etched her name into the Westlake record books when she scored her 1000th career point three weeks ago in a win over North Ridgeville. She is pictured with head coach Chip Weiss.
