City of Avon Tree Lighting is Saturday, Dec. 7

The French Creek Foundation and the City of Avon’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 7th. 

A special 10-year old girl, Maya Rak, will be helping this year.  Maya is bravely fighting cancer right now and the community is dedicating this year’s Tree Lighting to her.  

The event will start at 5:00 p.m. at Avon’s Gazebo at the corner of Detroit Rd and Stoney Ridge Road.  Maya and Santa will lead the small parade from the Gazebo to our Municipal Lot behind the Avon Senior Center (36784 Detroit Road).  

Organizations involved in the Tree Lighting Ceremony will be giving shout outs to Maya throughout the evening.

5:00-5:15 PM — Santa’s Parade thru Olde Avon Village to the Avon Municipal Lot. Follow him!

5:15 PM — Santa Arrives with the “Ride with Santa” Contest Winner Maya Rak! 

5:15-5:30 PM — Tree Lighting Ceremony (DJ Stage)

5:15-7:30 PM — Live Reindeer & Ponies

5:30-6:00 PM — Avon School Choirs Perform (DJ Stage)

5:30-7:30 PM — Visit with Santa (Santa’s Tent)

5:30-7:30 PM — Pizza, Hot Cocoa, Cookies, Coffee & Treats

6:30 PM — Raffle Drawing; Gingerbread House Contest Winners Announced

7:00 PM — Contestants Pick-up Gingerbread Houses
