Saturday, May 1 (9 a.m.-6 p.m.) Book Page Wallflower Craft to Go—Re-purpose some old book pages to create a vintage styled dahlia flower. Freshen your decor or make multiples for a special occasion. A limited number of kits will be available for pickup beginning May 1. Registration begins April 24. Kit will include supplies for one paper flower. You will need tape and/or a glue gun and internet access to view the tutorial which can be found at https://youtu.be/IYbokQRyaaE
Saturday, May 1 (2-3 p.m.) Going Bananas: Comics, Folklore, and More with the Scholarly Banana! (LIVE)—Join local author Karly West on ZOOM as she shares her creative process for crafting her hilarious and unique comic series, The Scholarly Banana, which uses handmade polymer clay figures to breathe new life into creepy classic fairytales. This program is open to teens and adults. A take-home craft kit to accompany the program will also be available to the teen participants upon request. Please register.
Monday, May 3 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) Baby-sitter’s Club Activity Bag Pick Up: Mary Anne’s Bag—Calling all Babysitters! Welcome to the Baby-sitters Club. Pick up your Babysitters club activity bags at the Youth Services Desk. Grades 5-8. Registration begins April 26.
Monday, May 3 (7-8 p.m.) Bodyweight Burn (Live)—Join us on Zoom as Natalie Gonzales returns to lead a boot camp style fitness class that can be modified for both beginners and experts! This class combines calisthenics (a form of body weight training as a way to build strength!) and high intensity cardio to improve your endurance and show you just what incredible feats your body is capable of. All levels are welcome, as the movements can be modified for any level participant to enjoy. Please register. Participants must provide an email address to receive Zoom instructions.
Tuesday, May 4 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) Tween Craft Pick-Up: May the 4th Be With You!—Come to the Youth Services Department starting today for a tween craft kit, then join us on social media throughout the day to celebrate all things Star Wars! Kits will be available for pick-up through Monday, May 10 unless other arrangements are made. Grades 4-6. While supplies last. Registration begins April 27.
Mondays, May 4 and 17 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) Teen Craft Pick Up—Come to the Youth Services Department to pick up a craft kit. Grades 7-12. Registration begins one week before each pick-up.

(6:30-7 p.m.) Family Storytime (Live)—Join us on ZOOM for an interactive storytime featuring books, rhymes, songs and movement. For families with children up to 2-6, siblings welcome. Please register. Participants must provide an email address to receive Zoom instructions on the day of the program.
Tuesday, May 4 (7-8:30 p.m.) Best Cartoons of World War II (Live)—Join author Tim Carroll as he discusses the best cartoons of World War II as published by Akron Beacon Journal political cartoonist Web Brown. Brown was one of the best political cartoonists in America during World War II. His work boosted morale at home and lifted the spirits of soldiers overseas. Please register to receive a confirmation email containing Zoom information.
Tuesday, May 4 (7-8 p.m.) Silent Reading Book Club (Live)—Have you been meaning to read more? Join other teens in grades 7-12 via Zoom for a dedicated hour to silently read. Bring your own book. Registration begins April 27.
Wednesday, May 5 (6-7 p.m.) Learning to Cube Supply Pick-Up and Program!—
Have you always wanted to solve the Rubik’s Cube? Pick up your Learning to Cube supplies at the Youth Services desk then join us on ZOOM to learn the basics of cubing. Ages 9-13. You will need a cube to participate in the program. Please register. Registration for the kit also registers you for the program. Participants must provide an email address to receive ZOOM instructions, which will be sent the day of the event. Pick-Up begins April 28.
Wednesday, May 5 (6:30-8:30 p.m.) Horror Film Club: Online Edition—Are you scared yet? The Horror Film Club returns for another online viewing! New members are always welcome, but children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Please register. Due to an abundance of caution surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the Horror Film Club will meet online using the video sharing site Watch2Gether. To participate, please check the event on the library’s website as early as 6 p.m. on the day of the program. There will be a link to take you to the site. Please note: You do not need an account with Watch2Gether to participate.

Thursday, May 6 (7-8 p.m.) Thursday Night Book Discussion—Join us for the second of our new discussion group! May’s title is The Girl He Used to Know by Tracey Garvis Graves, and is available in ebook format in the Hoopla app. The group will meet on the first Thursday of the month in July, September & November. Due to the extended time frame, participants will need to obtain their own copies of each month’s title.
Friday, May 7 (4-4:30 p.m.) Cup of Science (Live)—Join Miss Holly on Facebook or YouTube for a fun video on Flowers and Bees! Recommended for ages 4-6.
Saturday, May 8 (9 a.m.-6 p.m.) STEAM Maker Lab Supply Pick-Up—Register to learn more about the earth, plate tectonics, continents, oceans and landforms. Kits available in the Youth Services Department starting May 8. Grades 3-5. Please Note: Registration for the pick-up also registers you for the May 15 STEAM Maker program on Zoom. Saturday, May 8 (11-11:30 a.m.) Adapted Storytime (Live)—Join us for this ZOOM storytime designed for children who may not be successful in a typical storytime. Tuesday, May 11 (1-3 p.m.) Career Transition: Resumes and LinkedIn Buzz (LIVE)— Resumes – should they be one page or two, what are the latest “buzz” words, what is the best choice of verbs, formats, fonts, font sizes, or templates? LinkedIn – what is new in 2021? How important is your LinkedIn profile? The answers to these questions change regularly. Wednesday, May 12 (2-3 p.m.) Aging in Place (Live)—For several reasons, people want to stay in their home and their community as they age instead of moving to a retirement

Wednesday, May 12 (4-5 p.m.) Teen Writers Group (Live)—An online Zoom meet up for writers in grades 7-12. This is a dedicated hour to just write. Friday, May 14 (9 a.m.-6 p.m.) Got Science? Supply Pick-Up and Program—Join us as we make a DIY compass! You will need a kit to participate in the Zoom program at 4 p.m. on May 21. Grades 1 & 2.
