Kathryn Kerber Brings Vision, Experience, and Heart to Bay Village Mayoral Race

For the first time in eight years, Bay Village voters have a choice in who leads our city as Mayor. This November, that choice is clear: Kathryn Kerber, a seasoned public servant and community advocate, is running with a platform rooted in transparency, strategic planning, and inclusive leadership.

A Bay Village resident since 2009, Kerber has deep local ties and a proven track record. As the city’s former Project Manager, she secured $7.8 million in grants and led transformative efforts like the Cahoon Park Lakefront Master Plan and the Safe Routes to School Travel Plan. Now serving as Director of Planning and Community Development in Rocky River, she oversees land-use commissions and citywide planning. She’s ready to bring that experience home.

Kerber’s campaign centers on four key priorities:

  • Preserving Neighborhood Character by ensuring new construction reflects Bay Village’s architectural charm.
  • Protecting the Tree Canopy through stronger ordinances and investment in public and private greenery.
  • Enhancing Communication and Transparency with regular updates, town halls, and social media engagement.
  • Strengthening Public Safety by assigning the Safety Director role to a qualified professional, allowing the Mayor to focus on resident communication during emergencies.

Her leadership style is approachable, resourceful, and invested. She’s knocked on thousands of doors since May, listening to residents’ concerns and ideas. Her campaign also champions sustainability, e-bike safety, and family-friendly amenities like a splash pad at Reese Park.

Kerber is endorsed by Senator Nickie Antonio, Representative Bride Rose Sweeney, and organizations like North Shore AFL-CIO and The Matriots—leaders who recognize her integrity and vision.
