Great Lakes Honda Continues Support for Maltby Breast Health Center at UH St. John Medical Center

For the seventh consecutive year, Great Lakes Honda West has partnered with University Hospitals St. John Medical Center to support breast health care on the west side through a donation benefiting the Maltby Breast Health Center.

Julia Pawlowski, Director of Marketing, Great Lakes Honda; Kelly Coffman, General Manager, Great Lakes Honda; Dr. Ashley Simpson, Medical Director, Maltby Breast Health Center; Nancy Maltby; Dr. Judy Wolfe, Chief Medical Officer, UH St. John Medical Center; Don Maltby; and Heidi Filer, Director of Operations, UH St. John Medical Center, celebrate Great Lakes Honda’s seventh annual gift benefiting the Maltby Breast Health Center.

The annual gift was generated through a portion of vehicle sales during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. With this year’s contribution, Great Lakes Honda’s cumulative giving to the Maltby Breast Health Center has reached $48,000, reflecting the dealership’s long-standing commitment to improving the health and well-being of local residents. The dealership has supported the center through annual October fundraising efforts tied to vehicle sales.

Joining the presentation were Don and Nancy Maltby, whose transformational philanthropy helped establish the Maltby Breast Health Center at UH St. John Medical Center. In 2020, the couple made a lead gift to support breast health services, clinical research, cancer prevention efforts, and patient care, resulting in the center being named in their honor. Nancy, a breast cancer survivor, and Don were inspired to expand access to advanced breast health care close to home for patients across Cleveland’s west side communities.

“Community partnerships play an important role in helping us provide exceptional care for patients and families,” said Dr. Ashley Simpson, Medical Director of the Maltby Breast Health Center. “We are grateful for Great Lakes Honda’s continued commitment to breast health awareness and the generous support they have provided over the years.”

The Maltby Breast Health Center provides comprehensive breast health services, cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment coordination, research opportunities and prevention programs for women throughout the region.
