Avon Historical Society September Monthly Meeting & Program

Please join us on September 3 at 7 p.m., at the Avon Olde Town Hall located at the corner of Detroit and Stoney Ridge, Avon, Ohio. Our program is: “The Firelands” presented by Beryl Prusinoski.

Step into the story of the Firelands, new territory with deep roots in the Revolutionary War. Witness the slow unfolding of development, as bureaucratic maneuvering and disputes over Native land rights delayed the compensation promised to Connecticut citizens. Hear stories of pioneer life directly from the first settlers.

Speaker Bio: Beryl Prusinoski is a statistician who worked in the chemical industry for more than 40 years. Upon retirement, she decided to share her interest in history and science with adult learners by creating and delivering classes.
