Bay Village Boy Scout Eagle Project Helps St. Herman House

Semaan Boutros of Bay Village has been working on his Eagle project with St. Herman House men’s homeless shelter, 4410 Franklin Blvd. in Cleveland. The project is to transform a large storage room into a bedroom for 2 more men to live at the shelter. The room was filled with items that have been stored for many years. Semaan organized the project and lead the scouts in emptying the room, cleaning, repairing and painting the room. His father and uncle replaced some drywall and installed a new ceiling fan, which was donated by one of the other fathers in the troop.

Saturday, October 14 was the final stage of the transformation when Semaan and the boys brought in 2 beds and 2 lockers, which were also donated, to the room. The shelter now has a room for 2 more homeless men to stay at the shelter! They previously had 28 men living at the shelter.
