Avon Students Team for Playground Pride

Mayor Bryan Jensen encourages Avon High art students as they teamed with the City to create murals for the new all-inclusive playground going up near the Aquatic Center.

The City of Avon is constructing an all-inclusive, all-access playground next to the Avon Aquatic Center on Detroit Road by the Post Office at 36265 Detroit Ave.

Mayor Bryan Jensen recently reached out the Avon High for a special painting project and the students were happy and honored to participate.

AP art students took advantage of last week’s nice weather to paint murals on sidewalk borders around the playground area The murals feature all-inclusive scenes with some incorporating children with disabilities, and also depict Avon pride and other playful designs.

Karen Busch is the Avon High School art teacher who worked with the students all day.
