Nobody want a lump of coal for Christmas. But for 16-year old Macy Fox, a Sheffield Lake resident and junior at Brookside High,  scrap metal is a perfect gift!

While most girls like jewelry, Macy has her heart set on heavier metal – scrap metal – that can be turned into cash to support her automobile racing hobby.

Here is Macy’s Christmas list:

Donate your scrap metal or car parts !

Macy has been racing cars since before she was able to legally drive. “She ran her first race at Lorain County Speedway when she was 14,” reports her dad, Dwayne. Dwayne set a record at Lorain County Speedway in 1999.

As the daughter of a mechanic, automotive interests come first for Macy, who would like to become a professional driver someday. She is also a committed Christian, sponsored by Avon Baptist Church. “Jesus Christ is the only reason I make it to the track each week,” she said.

For now, she competes behind the wheel of a 325-horsepower Ford Torino at speeds up to 90 miles hour at Lorain County and Sandusky Speedways.

A cheerleader at Brookside High, Macy is almost always the lone girl while circuiting racing laps. It has been a love of her since she was a little girl. But it is an expensive sport.

Even with her dad as head mechanic, costs add up.

So if you have scrap metal at your house or business. Give Macy or her dad a call. They will pick it up for free and turn it into race fees. “It costs about $140 a night if all goes well with my car,” said Macy. “So if you have scrap metal at your house or business or would like to make a donation. That would be great!”

Here is Macy’s wish list again:
