Has the new health insurance exchange got you confused? Mercy and Lorain County Health & Dentistry are to here to help.
The Affordable Care Act has provided many Americans with the opportunity to access free coverage under the expanded Medicaid guidelines, or low-cost health insurance through the insurance marketplace. Both Medicaid and the marketplace insurance plans provide coverage for doctor visits, prescription drugs, hospitalization and no-cost preventive care. Based on your income and family size, the federal government is providing subsidies that may offset the entire cost of the insurance premium.
To help cut through the clutter, a team of certified application counselors from Mercy and Lorain County Health & Dentistry will be on hand during a free enrollment session to help families and individuals see if they qualify under the newly expanded guidelines for Medicaid or choose an insurance plan before the March 31 open enrollment deadline.
The sessions will be offered on the following dates and locations:
· Tuesday, March 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Ross Conference Room #2 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, 3700 Kolbe Road, Lorain.
· Wednesday, March 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mercy Allen Hospital, 200 W. Lorain Street, Oberlin. Registration will take place in the Front Lobby.
Each individual will have an opportunity to ask questions and receive personalized assistance.
Mercy, which provides advanced, quality, compassionate care to the Lorain County community through its integrated health system, is dedicated to helping you learn about your health insurance options and find a plan that works for you.
