Bay Police: “Beware of Fraudulent Phone Callers”

Bay Village Police warn residents to continue to beware of fraudulent phone callers. On 03/19/2014, at 1500 hours, a resident called BVPD to report receiving a phone call from a female stating she was entitled “to winnings”, but needed information to process it. The resident was advised of the increase in recent fraudulent activity. She was advised to make her bank aware. Bay Village residents are encouraged to notify BVPD of any fraudulent activity.

 

OVIs

 

On 03/18/2014, at 1707 hours, a resident in the 26000 block of Bruce Rd. called BVPD to report an occupied suspicious tan colored vehicle parked on the street by the residence. Police responded to the area, and upon arrival the suspect vehicle began to pull away. A BVPD officer stopped the vehicle, identifying four teenaged males. After speaking with male occupants, the BVPD officer cited two of the males for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

On 03/20/2014, at 0306 hours, a BVPD officer observed a male, who appeared to be intoxicated, walking northbound on Bradley Rd. The officer spoke with the male confirming he was highly intoxicated. He was arrested for Disorderly Conduct – Intoxication. He will face charges at RRMC.

 

On 03/21/2014, at 0054 hours, a BVPD officer initiated a traffic stop in the area of Knickerbocker and Cahoon Rd. After speaking with the male driver, officers believed the driver was under the influence.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the 37 YOA male was arrested for OVI.  He will face charges at RRMC.

 

On 03/22/2014, at 0243 hours, a BVPD officer initiated a traffic stop in the area of Pinewood Dr. and Lake Rd. After speaking with the female driver, officers believed the driver was under the influence.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the 21 YOA female was arrested for OVI.  She will face charges at RRMC.
