On 04/22/2014, at 1226 hrs, a Kimerly Dr. resident called BVPD to report someone had used his Social Security number to file a false 2013 tax return for an unknown amount.  BVPD and the IRS are following up.

On 04/24/2014, at 0804 hrs, a BVPD officer observed a male in a front yard in the 500 block of Elmwood that had an arrest warrant with BVPD.  The officer took the male into custody without incident.  He was later released on a bond.  He will have another court date at RRMC.

On 04/24/2014, at 2012 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a 20 yoa male who was walking on the Norfork and Southern railroad tracks behind Dover Commons.  The male was advised he was trespassing on private property, and sent on his way.

On 04/24/2014, at 2058 hrs, BVPD responded to an MVA at the intersection of Columbia and Wolf.  The at fault party fled the scene, and was tracked down by police on Bruce Rd. near Douglas.  After speaking with the 42 yoa male driver, officers suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result the Bruce Rd. resident was taken into custody for OVI and various traffic offenses.  He will face charges at RRMC.

On 04/24/2014, at 2047 hrs, a Wolf Rd. resident called to complain that someone was playing loud music at the Reese Park basketball courts.  A 16 yoa resident was advised of the complaint and turned down his radio.

On 04/24/2014, at 1200 hrs, an Eaton Way resident called to report she received a call from an Indian sounding female claiming she worked for a window company.  The caller told her the company was receiving spam from one of the residents email accounts, and they needed to remotely hook into her computer to fix the problem.  The resident told them no, and terminated the phone call.  BVPD reminds residents there are a lot of phone scams out there, please be very cautious when taking calls from telemarketers.
