St. John Medical Center Dept. of Nursing Awards 2014

Congratulations to Michael Lew, MD, recipient of The Physician Nurse Champion Award at St. John Medical Center last week. The Physician Nurse Champion Award is presented to the physician practicing at SJMC who possesses the unique ability to collaborate with nurses toward the goal of excellence in patient care. Presenting the award is Cheryl O’Malley, Vice President Patient Services/Chief Nursing Officer. Dr. Lew is an orthopedic specialist and surgeon.

Nurses are compassionate, committed, connected and professional. In honor of these dedicated health practitioners, St. John Medical Center presented the 2014 Department of Nursing Awards in ceremonies within the new SJMC Outpatient Lobby on Fri., May 9.

Following an opening prayer from Fr. William Smith, SJMC President & CEO William A. Young and Adnan Mourany, MD, President, SJMC Medical Staff, welcomed guests and recognized all who were nominated for these prestigious honors.

Presenting all awards was Cheryl O’Malley, Vice President Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer.

These awards uniquely honor the profession of nursing in select ways that recognize excellence in patient care, dedication, exemplary performance and mission specific to each award. Congratulations to all!
