Westlake Police: Summer Mayhem
Summer mayhem took hold in Westlake last week, as reported by the Westlake Police Dept.:
-A MacIntosh Dr. woman found an unauthorized $260 charge on her credit card statement. It had been made at a Cleveland-area drugstore on July 1; the account was closed.
-A 22-year-old Bassett Rd. man fought with his 26-year-old brother on July 2 at 7:52PM and stabbed the older man in the back of the head. The victim did not want to press charges and his injury was not life-threatening; Felonious Assault and Domestic Violence charges were filed nonetheless. During the fracas, a 19-year-old Cleveland woman had $463 cash and $200 worth of jewelry taken from her purse.
-A 34-year-old Berea woman was acting suspiciously in the parking lot of St. John Medical Center. Officers found her trying to find a smidgen of crack on the floor of her car. She was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (crack pipe).
-Jewelry valued at $2750 is missing from a Canterbury Rd. home; the homeowner reports the house had been locked up, her dog did not bark, her adult son was at home sleeping, and there were no signs of forced entry. This theft occurred sometime on the afternoon through the night of July 3.
-Bearings valued at $1535 were taken from an overseas shipment received at a Clemens Rd. business on July 3. The theft could have happened anywhere between Romania and Westlake.
-A 26 in men’s Trek mountain bike (purple and green in color, value $695) with a black saddle bag attached was stolen from the High School on the afternoon of July 3. No suspects.
-A 20-year-old Sleepy Hollow Dr. man was arrested for Discharging Fireworks and Resisting Arrest on July 3 at 6:51PM. His mother became irate and tried to interfere with the arrest, but backed off. The son would not submit to handcuffing and was wrestled to the ground.
-A Columbia Rd. woman spotted a 42-year-old Bay Village man pulling on the door handle of her car, which was parked in her driveway at 3:50AM on July 4. The male was lost and intoxicated and arrested for DCI. It was noted that his clothing was bloody and that he had urinated in his pants.
-A 29-year-old North Olmsted man gave false ID info to an officer on July 4 at 9:58PM while the officer investigated a fireworks complaint. He was arrested for Misidentification.
-A 17-year-old Laughlin Ln. boy was taken to the County Detention Home on July 5 after a 12:35PM fight with his mother. He had been out all night, called her a vulgar name, and refused to do his chores, then knocked his mom down, injuring her arm. He was arrested for Domestic Violence.
-A Marview Dr. woman reported that the 34-year-old father of her child took her 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt against her wishes on July 6 at 9:32PM. He was recently released from prison and is on parole for Drug Trafficking. He also threatened her if she called police. He returned the car the next day and was arrested for GTA and Domestic Violence. His parole officer was notified.
-A 33-year-old Caroline Cr. woman suffered a cut on her head at the hands of the 35-year-old father of her children on July 6 at 11:12PM. The suspect threw a cell phone at her, causing the injury. He was arrested for Domestic Violence.
