With so many preschool options available, many parents can be overwhelmed with the process of choosing a preschool for their child. The Avon Early Childhood PTA (AECPTA) is helping parents simplify their search by offering a Preschool/Activity Fair on Oct. 14 immediately following the club’s General Meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at Avon Heritage North Elementary School (35575 Detroit Road).
Preschools from Avon, Avon Lake, Westlake and other surrounding communities will be in attendance. Confirmed schools attending include: Pembroke Kids (Avon Lake), Christ Lutheran (Avon Lake), Faith Lutheran (Avon), Fit by Five (Westlake), Goddard School (Avon), Holy Trinity (Avon), Jack-n-Jill (Avon Lake), Montessori Children’s School (Westlake), Soaring Eagles (Avon), Avon Montessori Academy (Avon), Lake Erie Nature & Science Center (Bay Village), KinderCare of Avon (Avon), St. Thomas Lutheran School (Rocky River), St. Jude Preschool (Elyria), Primrose School of Avon (Avon), and French Creek Family YMCA (Avon).
In addition to Preschools, representatives from The Little Gym of Avon (Avon), Little Explorers-Tumbles & Cheers (Avon), Preschool Sports (Avon Lake), Music Therapy Enrichment Center, Inc. (Westlake), and Two Feathers Longhouse (Avon) will be present to provide information about various activities.
The Avon Early Childhood PTA Preschool/Activity Fair, which is open to the public is for parents of children not yet enrolled in preschool and/or those interested in changing their current school. “This is a fantastic event, simply because it not only provides attendees the opportunity to check out local preschools/activities all in one room, but also provides the opportunity to speak with a representative from the organizations,” said Lisa Butkowski, AECPTA Vice President of Programming.
The Avon Early Childhood PTA is an organization that offers social and educational activities that enrich the lives of our members and their children. Members are given the opportunity to share time with their family while connecting with others in the community. The club is open to families with children birth to kindergarten in Avon and surrounding communities. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month (Sept. –May) at Avon Heritage North Elementary School (35575 Detroit Road). Free babysitting is available to members.
AECPTA also is an organization that gives back. Members collect monetary and needed consumer product donations for several local charities throughout the year. The club also donates a sizable percent of profits each year to charities and causes that promote and support family and child well-being and development. AECPTA presented the Avon Local School district with a $15,000 donation towards the construction of a new playground at Avon Middle School, which will be converted into an Early Learning Campus for preschool and kindergarten students when the new middle school is constructed in Avon on Long Road.
