Over the past 18 months, the Bay Village Police Department has taken possession of many unclaimed bicycles. Many of these bikes are relatively new and in excellent condition but have no Bay bike license. They have been checked against our reported stolen bicycles and remain unidentified.

In order to facilitate the return of these bikes to their rightful owners, the Bay Village Police Department would like to ask parents and kids who have a bicycle missing to consider checking with us for their missing bike. We ask that you bring a description of the missing bicycle, preferably with ownership documentation such as the owner’s manual or receipt, to the Police Department. An officer will assist in determining whether your bicycle is in our possession. If your bicycle is located, you will be able to obtain a bike license prior to release.

We ask that residents respond to the Police Department only on Saturdays from 8:00am to 5:00pm, beginning November 22 through December 20, 2000. Any bicycles not claimed will be donated to the Village Bicycle Cooperative. The Police Department hopes that all Bay Village residents who have lost a bicycle will take advantage of this opportunity. If you have any questions, please contact the Bay Village Police Department at 871-1234.
