O’Neill Healthcare opened its fifth West Shore location on Jan. 22 with the official ribbon-cutting and blessing of O’Neill Healthcare Fairview Park at 20770 Lorain Road.
Standing in the location of the former Garnett Elementary School, the facility offers 118 skilled nursing beds (including 56 private rooms). An innovative 5,000 square foot Therapy and Rehabilitation Center contains an 800 square foot replica house with kitchen, full bath, living room and bedroom to help patients transition back to real world activities.
Skilled nursing, rehabilitative therapies, hospice care and dialysis are all features of this state-of-the-art resource.
“We are going to be a good neighbor,” said John T. O’Neill, President O’Neill Healthcare.
Fairview Park Mayor Eileen Patton was on hand to welcome the O’Neill family to this “sacred ground” that once served both Garnett School children and the school system’s administrative offices.
The huge, 65,000 square foot facility is a model of modern suburban renewal, bringing new life to the Lorain Road area for employment as well as healthcare and rehabilitation services. The rehabilitation area even has a Ford Taurus parked outside the replica house so patients can practice getting in and out of the car, and a mock grocery store nearby to practice shopping and walking.
O’Neill Healthcare Fairview Park is located at 20770 Lorain Road. (440) 331-0300.
