On 12/24/2015, at 0500 hrs, numerous residents in the 24000 block of Russell reported hearing several gunshots or loud explosions in the area. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the source.
Scammers Reported
On 12/22/2015, several Bay Village residents received scam phone calls in which the caller attempted to get the homeowners personal or financial information. The homeowners realized the calls were a scam, and did not give out any of their information. BVPD reminds residents to be very cautious of unsolicited phone calls where the caller is asking for personal information.
Bay Watch
On 12/23/2015, at 1558 hrs, a Columbia Rd. resident called to report there was someone inside the vacant house across the street. Responding officers learned the house was in foreclosure, and the bank had hired the men who were at the house to winterize it. BVPD reminds residents to please call immediately if you observe any suspicious activity.
Harassment Reported
On 12/23/2015, at 1706 hrs, a resident in the 27000 block of Knickerbocker reported he was being harassed on the phone by a former business partner. Police are investigating.
Pot Bust
On 12/25/2015, at 0102 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Bassett Rd. near Ednil for a traffic violation. While speaking with the driver, the officer smelled the odor of raw marijuana coming from within the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located in the car. The 21 yoa Bay Village resident was cited for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She will face charges at RRMC.
