After 5 wonderful and fun filled days, the Transplant Games of America held in Cleveland are over. Nathan Hart, who will enter 6th grader at the Bay Middle School in August, represented Team Ohio well by coming home with 3 medals!

The Transplant Games of America 2016 were held June 10-15 in Cleveland. This was Nathan’s first Transplant Games and he was very excited to be on Team Ohio! He participated in the family walk, 1 K cycling, golf singles, basketball, and volleyball! He had a blast meeting other transplant recipients and many living donors and donor families from all over the country!

Nathan earned earned a Silver medal in golf, a Bronze in the 1 K cycling, and a Bronze in Youth basketball.

It was a great way for Nathan to celebrate his 10-year Kidney Transplant! Nathan was a  2 year-old when he received his kidney transplant from his mom, Anne Hart. He lives a healthy and normal life. Nathan was thrilled to participate in the TGA and earned a Silver medal in golf, a Bronze in the 1 K cycling, and a Bronze in Youth basketball.

The Silver medal in golf was extra special since his grandfather taught him golf. His grandfather, Timothy V. Boylan passed away this December and was a tissue and bone donor. He would have been so proud of Nathan!

The Transplant Games of America were an awesome experience because it truly is about living life to the fullest!

Nathan wants others to know that “By being a donor, you give others a second chance of life. By participating in the Transplant Games of America, it made me feel like I fit in with others like me.”

Nathan is already talking about the Transplant Games of America 2018. The location has yet to be announced.

Be an organ donor and remember to Live Life! Give Life!
