Normandy School Alert Leads Bay Police to Possible Child Endangering

Bay Village Police received a call from Normandy Elementary School at 4 p.m. last Friday that a 5-year old student was not picked up from school.POLICE_Bay Village_Disclaimer

Additionally, when school staff made contact with the student’s mother, the mother was reported to have ‘sounded impaired.’

Officers were dispatched to the home in the 400 block of Columbia Road and found the mother hiding in the basement with a 3-year old child.

The mother was arrested due to having outstanding warrants from the Bay Village and Westlake Police Depts. and also the county sheriff. The 22-year old mother is also facing Child Endangering charges at Rocky River Municipal Court.
