Bay Car Break-ins Remind Residents to Lock their Cars

police_bay-village2_disclaimerOn the morning of 04/09/2017, Bay Village Police received numerous reports that residents in the center/near west side of town had their unlocked vehicles were entered overnight and items were taken.  Police are investigating.  BVPD reminds residents to lock your vehicles and do not leave valuables in them.

Better Safe than Sorry

On 04/03/2016, at 1316 hrs, a Lake Forest resident called BVPD to report suspicious activity at a neighbor’s house.  They had observed a car pull into the driveway and a male enter the house.  The caller knew the owners of the house were on vacation.  BVPD responded and discovered the homeowner’s adult son was at the house to do some laundry with his parent’s knowledge.  BVPD reminds residents to please call immediately when they see suspicious activity.

Skate Park Altercation

On 04/05/2017, at 1639 hrs, a BVPD officer was flagged down by a motorist who report an altercation at the Bay Village Bike and Skate Park.  Upon arrival, officers spoke with two adults who were having a heated discussion about the right of way of a 7-yoa scoter rider vs. that of an adult on a bicycle, and the use of foul language.  Both parties were advised.  The 24-yoa bicyclist, who was from Columbus, left the park for the day.

Missing Rings

On 04/07/2017, at 1901 hrs, a Midland resident reported that two valuable rings were missing from her house.  She noticed them missing after two technicians were at the house to do some work.  The rings were recovered the next day at a pawn store.  Police are continuing to investigate.

Suspicious Car

On 04/07/2017, at 2107 hrs, a Northfield resident reported a suspicious car parked in front of her house.  The vehicle had been parked there for a while, and people kept getting in and out of the vehicle.  A BVPD officer stopped the car on Lake Rd. near Long Beach.  The vehicle was a group of friends who decided to meet on Northfield, even though none of them lived there.  While speaking with the group, the officer suspected there was marijuana in the vehicle.  A probable cause search of the vehicle turned up marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  An 18-yoa Bay Village resident (male) was cited for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and an 18 yoa Bay Village resident (male) was cited for Possession of Marijuana.  They will both face charges at RRMC.
