The Easter Egg Hunt and Candy Scramble continued a tradition of community service begun in the mid-50’s by the Town Criers, including events like the annual Tree Lighting and Mr. & Mrs. Westlake tradition.
No kid went home unhappy after scurrying through the playground for candy on Saturday. As Mayor Dennis Clough counted down to the official start, excited children jumped the gun and race was on for 3,000 pounds of treats and even stuffed animals for the little ones in the non-competitive 3-and-under category.
Westlake High Honors students also helped, and so did Mother Nature with sunny skies and a perfect spring setting.
Thank you, Town Criers and Happy Easter everyone!
