Bay Mens Club Baseball Registration

The BMC Baseball player registration opens online March 1. www.BMCBaseball.com. Players Current Grades K – 6th: $85, Players Current Grades 7th-12th: $100.

Players are placed in their respective leagues by current school grade. We need volunteer coaches at each age level! Registration Deadline: March 31. After that, $40 late fee and registration cannot be guaranteed.

Practice begins First Saturday of May, games begin Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. The season concludes 2nd week of July.

Saint Raphael Church Lenten Fish Fry

March 8, 15, 22, 29, April 5, 12, 5-7:30 p.m.

Saint Raphael Lenten Fish Fry features adult, children and senior dinners. Entrée choices include fried fish (perch), baked fish (haddock), fried shrimp, macaroni and cheese or pierogies. Sides also available: macaroni and cheese or pierogies. All meals include French fries, coleslaw, roll w/butter and homemade dessert. Iced tea and lemonade will be served. Soda will be available for purchase. Please join us every Friday during lent to enjoy an evening of good food, good fun, laughter and friendship! Adult dinners: $13, Seniors (62 & older) & children (10 & under) dinners: $9. Carry out available.

BV 60+ March Events & Activities

Game Night on Tuesday, arch 12 at 6:30 PM at the Dwyer Senior Center.  Bring a friend and your favorite game.  Free

The final BV60+ Meet and Greet for this season is Thursday, March 21 at Burntwood in Rocky River from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.  Happy Hour prices on food and beverages.

Introduction to Kayaking and Water Safety presented by the USCG and LoCoYaks Tuesday, March 26th from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Dwyer Center. RSVP to vsprague@cityofbayvillage.com.

Co-Op Carnival

Thursday, March 14, 6-8 p.m.

The Cooperative Preschool of Bay Village invites children of all ages and their families to the annual Co-Op Carnival March 14, 6-8 p.m. at the Bay Village Middle School Cafeteria. Featuring carnival games, face painting, photo booth, crafts, bake sale and more! The games and activity booths require tickets that are purchased upon entrance to the carnival. Ticket purchases are cash only. All proceeds go to the Cooperative Preschool of Bay Village, at 501c(3) organization. www.BayCoOpSchool.org.

3rd Annual Bay Alumni Madness

Saturday, March 23, 6 p.m.

Bay Alumni Night at Bay Lanes, 27229 Wolf Rd. Food, Cash Bar, 50/50 Raffle, Prizes and Fun presented by the Bay Alumni Foundation raising funds for the Bay Alumni Foundation Achievement Scholarship Program. Attendees must be 21. Bowlers: $40, Socialize: $30. It’s not about how you bowl, it’s about how you rock n’ roll!

Bragging Rights: Class with most pins takes the Rocket Pin! Class that raises the most funds takes the King Pin!

Don’t Bowl: Come and socialize and you can still help your class win. Just like school, attendance counts. Attending will help your class WIN the KING PIN!

Out of town or can’t make it? Donations helps your class WIN the KING PIN! Send in a donation and indicate your class year. You can also gather alumni in your area to bowl and email your scores with entry fee.

Reduce your library fines up to $4 per visit ($1 per food item) from March 1 – 31 when you donate Super Six* food items to Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s Harvest for Hunger campaign.

*Super Six: Peanut Butter, Cereal, Canned Soup, Canned Vegetables, Canned Beef Stew, & Canned Tuna.

Damaged and/or expired food items & items in glass containers will not be accepted.

A Message from VFW Post 9693

Are you a relative of a veteran and want to honor them?  Are you a civilian that has an interest in veteran and community support? Do you have the desire but not an opportunity?  VFW Post 9693 wants to help.

The VFW has a formal organization called Auxiliaries that perform these functions.  They are a great help for the Posts and communities they support.  However, Bay Village VFW Post 9693 does not have the membership to establish a VFW Auxillary, but we do have a need.

We are looking for volunteers that can assist us with events and coordination.  There are no commitments.  Volunteers are welcome to attend our monthly meetings to learn about events and opportunities and they can assist with planning.

Volunteers cannot vote on official business but your input, assistance, and opinions regarding social and community events would be welcomed.

Bay Village VFW Post is small and we do not have a Post Home.  Communication and logistics are always a challenge.  With many elderly and disabled members this chore falls on a few.  More assistance will be appreciated and help us stabilize our future.

Since this is not a requirement and all are volunteers, we would like to build a list of names that could be called on when needed. Your involvement can be as little or as much as you want.

Auxiliaries have eligibility requirements to join, our only requirement is a desire to serve our greater West Shore communities and our veteran neighbors.
