University Hospitals St. John Medical Center hosted the 2022 Department of Nursing Awards Ceremony under sunny skies on the hospital patio the afternoon of May 12.
No single group of health care professionals is more important to the service of patient care. This event emphasized the appreciation earned by nurses all year. UH SJMC COO Jonathan Sague, Chief Medical Officers Gilbert Padula, MD, and Dilip Narichania, MD, opened the ceremonies with words of thanks while Cathy Knorzer, Chief Nursing Officer, presented awards.
Awards were presented in several categories of nursing service:
Outstanding Clinical Support – Manny Yousef: The outstanding clinical support winner is related to providing outstanding clinical support to ensure quality patient care.
Nurse Preceptor – Kayla Kish, RN: The preceptor of the year is related to an outstanding nurse who helps to train new hires to provide quality care.
Nurse Excellence – Holly Hiles, RN: The clinical Excellence award is awarded to a nurse who excels at providing high quality nursing care.
Nurse Leader – Melissa Fogle, RN: The nurse leader award is awarded to a nurse leader who leads their teams with service and humility.
Rookie of the Year – Hannah Batovsky, RN: The rookie of the year is awarded to a new graduate nurse who excelled during the year and showed excellent growth and development.
