The City of Westlake celebrated the Fourth of July in gala fashion again this year with a cornucopia of patriotic events.
Centerpiece was the annual Independence Day parade, which kicked off at 10 a.m. and followed a course along Hilliard Blvd. to Clague Park. Streets lined with spectators again highlighted this signature community event.
Mayor Dennis Clough then welcomed the community, introduced city and civic leaders and shared a patriotic message with guests.

The crowd then adjourned to the annual Westlake Classic Car Show, one of the best anywhere, featuring well over 200 pristine, collectable automobiles.
At 2 p.m., the Westlake Lions Club conducted their annual ringing of the Liberty Bell. Peterson Pool also was open all day for a great chance to cool off.
At dusk, the city then presented its annual gala fireworks display to cap off another celebration of our nation’s birthday.
