North Coast Rotary Supports CRS Expansion Through Service Project and $7,500 Floor-ing Contribution

North Coast Rotary Club members recently completed a service project at the Community Resource Support (CRS) Center, helping prepare expanded spaces for the installation of new flooring. The flooring project will support CRS’s expansion and enhance its ability to provide food and other essential resources to community members.

North Coast Rotary is funding the new flooring through a Rotary District 6600 grant, which provides a 50% match to funds raised by the club. Through the generous support of the community and proceeds from various club fundraisers, North Coast Rotary contributed $5,000 toward the project. With the district match, the total funding available for the new flooring is $7,500.

The Avon/Avon Lake Community Resource Services (CRS) expansion will provide additional storage space for non-perishable food items and accommodate the installation of a large-capacity refrigerator. The additional refrigeration will allow CRS to offer community members fresh produce and other perishable foods requiring refrigeration.

As part of the service project, North Coast Rotary members moved shelving, redistributed essential supplies and sorted donated items to prepare the expanded spaces for flooring installation. Ryan Virtue, director of CRS and a member of North Coast Rotary, assisted and directed Rotarians throughout the project.

The project reflects North Coast Rotary’s ongoing commitment to supporting local organizations and addressing needs within the communities it serves. North Coast Rotary serves Avon, Avon Lake, Sheffield Lake and Sheffield Village and embraces the Rotary International motto, “Service Above Self.”

Through volunteer service, fundraising, and partnerships with local organizations, North Coast Rotary continues to work to make a positive difference throughout the communities of Avon, Avon Lake, Sheffield Lake, and Sheffield Village. Meetings are held Tuesday mornings at the French Creek YMCA, providing an opportunity for members and guests to learn more about our communities through a dynamic lineup of speakers.
