Bay Police: Evidence Indicates Signs of Spring

Evidence gathered by Bay Village Police over the weekend indicate that spring must be here. Upon checking on an unoccupied Kia parked in Cahoon Park, east of the Bay Boat Club on April 14 at 00:44 hours,  no one was found in the surrounding area. But a smoldering fire, a case of Miller Lite and various empty Miller Lite cans were found in a secluded area near the shoreline. The officers cleared the scene. At 01:46, the Kia was observed leaving the park. The vehicle was stopped and a 16-year-old female passenger, who had been drinking, was eventually arrested and released to her parents. Lock Your Cars

On 04/12/2017, several residents on streets adjacent to the high school reported that over the weekend their unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway had been entered and personal property taken. The Bay Village Police Department would again like to remind citizens to secure their vehicles when not in use.

Vehicle Pursuit Leads to Arrest

On 04/14/2017, at 00:44 AM, officers checked on an On 04/16/2017, at 01:42 AM, Bay Village units at the request of another police agency went to a residence on Canterbury to do follow-up on a vehicle pursuit. The vehicle in question had apparently been left with a repair mechanic who lives in Cleveland. While speaking with the vehicle owner it was found he had two warrants, one with Bay Village and the other with Cleveland. He was arrested, and since he was unable to post bond, remained in jail in order to see the judge or magistrate on Monday.
